Acupuncture for Migraines, Headaches & Nerve Symptoms
When head pain, dizziness, and nerve symptoms are running your life
Headaches that won't respond to medication. Dizziness that comes out of nowhere. Tingling in your hands or feet that nobody has a clear explanation for. Nerve sensitivity that makes ordinary sensations feel overwhelming.

Neurological symptoms are among the most disruptive and least predictable conditions to live with — and among the hardest to treat once the standard medical options have been exhausted. Imaging comes back normal. You're told it might be stress. The medication helps partially but not fully.

Acupuncture works directly with the nervous system — calming overactivated nerve pathways, improving circulation to the brain and extremities, reducing the sensitivity that makes symptoms so unpredictable, and helping the nervous system regulate itself more effectively.
It works at any stage — whether symptoms are new or have been present for years.

WHAT WE COMMONLY SEE
Migraines and chronic headaches
Recurring migraines, tension headaches, pressure-type headaches, and headaches triggered by stress, sleep changes, or sensory overload — including cases that haven't responded fully to medication or Botox

Dizziness and balance symptoms
Lightheadedness, imbalance, head pressure, motion sensitivity, and symptoms that worsen with activity or visual stimulation

Pins-and-needles sensations, altered sensation in the hands, feet, face, or limbs — intermittent or persistent

Burning, electric, or hypersensitive pain patterns, discomfort along nerve pathways, symptoms aggravated by movement or touch

Headaches, cognitive fatigue, dizziness, light sensitivity, and difficulty returning to normal activity after head injury — in adults, teenagers, and children

HOW ACUPUNCTURE APPROACHES HEADACHE AND NERVE SYMPTOMS
Most neurological symptoms involve a nervous system that has become sensitized — the threshold for triggering symptoms gets lower over time, and the pattern becomes self-reinforcing. Medications manage individual episodes but don't always address the underlying sensitivity.

Acupuncture works by reducing that sensitization directly. It calms the overactivated nerve pathways driving the symptoms, improves blood flow to affected areas, releases the muscular tension that frequently contributes to headache and nerve pain, and supports the autonomic nervous system regulation that governs how the body handles stress and sensory input.

Treatment is individualized from the first visit and adjusted based on your specific pattern and response.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need a diagnosis to start care? No. Many patients with headache and nerve symptoms have normal imaging or incomplete diagnoses. You don't need a confirmed diagnosis or referral to begin — just tell us what's happening and we'll work from there.

What if I've already tried medication and it hasn't fully worked? Partial medication response is one of the most common situations we see. Acupuncture works on different mechanisms than medication — for many patients the combination is more effective than either alone, and for others acupuncture addresses what medication hasn't reached.

Is this appropriate for post-concussion symptoms? Yes. Post-concussion syndrome is one of the conditions we see most — in adults, teenagers, and children. We have a dedicated page with more detail on our approach to post-concussion care.

Can acupuncture help with dizziness and balance problems? Yes — dizziness and balance symptoms respond well to acupuncture particularly when they involve nervous system dysregulation, cervical spine tension, or post-concussion patterns. We'll discuss your specific presentation on your first visit.

How quickly do headache and nerve symptoms typically respond? It depends on the condition and how long symptoms have been present. Tension headaches and acute nerve irritation often respond within the first few visits. Chronic migraine and longstanding nerve sensitivity take longer — most patients notice meaningful change within 4-6 visits with full improvement following over time.

Headache and nerve symptoms vary enormously — what's driving them, how long they've been present, and what's been tried all affect whether acupuncture is likely to help. Start with a free 15-minute phone call and we'll give you a straight answer.
